REIMAGINING TOMORROW
Reducing our environmental impact to foster a healthier and more resilient Earth for future generations.
CLIMATE AND EMISSIONS
We are committed to achieving a Net Zero value chain by 2050.
At Vakko, 60% of the production volume across our collections is carried out in Türkiye in line with sustainability principles.
Since 2021, we’ve been continuously monitoring our carbon footprint and energy consumption. We are proud to share that through our sustainability initiatives, we have successfully reduced our energy consumption with the aid of technological investments.
In 2022, we made a substantial investment in an environmentally friendly Fixing Machine resulting in significant energy savings throughout our value chain.
As part of our carbon footprint reduction initiative, we have switched majority of our fleet of company cars to electric vehicles.
WATER AND WASTE
We hold ourselves to the highest standards of accountability regarding our water usage and waste management.
Since 2020, through a range of strategic measures, we’ve actively reduced both our water consumption and waste output.
Since 2012, we’ve implemented Document Management Programs across all our operations to reduce paper consumption, while transitioning our business processes to digital platforms has been effective in reducing our carbon footprint.
Moreover, our investment in the Continuous Washing Machine has yielded impressive results, with a remarkable 98% reduction in water consumption and a 97.5% decrease in chemical usage.
Under our W Collection Men’s line, the production of our “Green Prescription Denim” requires significantly lower energy and water usage.
On a broader scale, we’ve reaffirmed our dedication to sustainability by the Zero Waste Project launched in 2020.
TRANSFER OF KNOWLEDGE
We believe in passing down the knowledge and know-how for a sustainable future.
Investing in effective sustainable solutions to create products that benefit our planet and the people involved in its life cycle.
SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS
As Türkiye’s most established luxury fashion brand, we strive to create beautiful and thoughtful products by utilizing more sustainable raw materials.
Raw materials account for a large percentage of our greenhouse gas emissions, which is why we have partnered with certified producers such as GOTS, Responsible Wool Standard (RWS), Global Recycled Standard (GRS), Organic Content Standard (OCS), and Recycled Claim Standard (RCS).
Notably, our brand defining scarves now proudly bear the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. certificate, signifying our adherence to environmental standards.
Furthermore, in our pursuit of sustainability, we’ve integrated LENZING™ and ECOVERO™ fibers into our creations.
Additionally, our collections feature timeless designs crafted from FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) certified Fillsens®, a 100% biodegradable material derived from wood pulp cellulose sourced from renewable resources.
Since 2020 we have proudly abstained from using fur in our Vakko Women’s line, choosing faux alternatives instead.
CIRCULARITY
We constantly upgrade our commitment to circularity through new business models and innovation.
We believe that ensuring the highest quality and durability are critical in promoting circularity.
Vakko has always offered its customers a range of alteration and repair services performed by expert tailors and artisans to extend the life span of its luxury products.
In 2020, we’ve initiated the Zero Waste Project, marking our commitment to waste reduction.
Furthermore, in 2021, we joined the Circular Economy Platform, reaffirming our dedication to sustainability.
As an innovative step, we currently utilize fibers derived from industrial apple residues as a sustainable leather alternative in shoe designs.
TRANSPARENCY AND TRACEABILITY
We are dedicated to improving the transparency of our suppliers, and the traceability of our sourced materials.
Transparency and traceability are fundamental to our ethos. The introduction of our ‘Sustainable Monogram’ series in 2024 has been just one step in this direction, and we have plans to expand sustainable collections across all Vakko brands in the near future.
Fostering a culture of fairness, inclusion and respect; taking actions aimed at benefiting the society and the individuals.
FUTURE TALENT
Our goal is to rank among the top 10 most desired companies to work for in Türkiye.
At Vakko, we take great pride in nurturing talent and fostering their growth.
In 2013, in an effort to support young creative talents who wish to pursue a career in the fashion industry, we’ve joined forces with the world’s first and foremost fashion school, Esmod. Conducted by industry professionals and encouraging the transfer of knowledge through generations, Vakko Esmod offers a variety of high-standard training programs in fashion, management and marketing.
Additionally, we have designed Vakko Career Model to guide and support our employees in reaching their career goals.
More recently, in collaboration with the EHL Group in Switzerland, we’ve launched the Vakko School of Hospitality and Service to set standards of excellence for vocational education and training in the field of hospitality.

Additionally, in 2009, as a gesture of public contribution, Vakko Group has established the Vitali Hakko Creative Industries Library and relocated it to the Atatürk Cultural Center in 2022.
